How to Heal Your Gut

In Traditional Chinese Medicine your digestive health is seen as the core of your overall wellness. When our gut is out of balance it will manifest as symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, bloating, gas, and indigestion. Apart from digestive issues your gut can also cause poor energy, irregular hormone levels, skin, blood sugar, emotional and other health issues. Therefore identifying how we heal your gut is very important. Here is how we approach healing your gut at Meta Health.

Understanding food sensitivity

Working with one of our trained functional medicine acupuncturists is a great way to help you plan an elimination diet - to find out what food sensitivities you may have. The common food groups that we eliminate and reintroduce are: gluten, dairy, wheat, corn, and egg.

Managing stress

Long term stress can affect the microbiome of our gut microbiota. Therefore having regular acupuncture treatments can help calm your central nervous system as well as supporting overall digestive function. We will also work with each individual to tailor treatment plans to reduce stressors with lifestyle and movement recommendations.

Diagnostic testing

At Meta Health we work with patients to do different diagnostic testings to look for food allergies that assesses 180 foods in the form that they are eaten, meaning raw and/or cooked. We also offer a stool test, GI Effects, which tests for yeast, bacteria, parasites, gut infection, inflammation and dysbiosis.

Dietary, herbs and supplementation

We approach every patient’s treatments naturally and individually - by creating dietary, herbal and supplementation that focuses on healing the gut. Our favorites are: anti-inflammatory diet, Klaire Labs Ther-biotic, to reintroduce multi-strain good bacteria, and bone broth to heal the lining of the gut.
