Description: The Meta Health GI Effects Comprehensive Profile is our advanced stool test that reviews digestive function, intestinal inflammation and intestinal microbiome. The profile tests yeast, bacteria, parasites, gut infection and dysbiosis. The GI Effects Stool Report provides an analysis of intestinal infection, inflammation, insufficiency, and imbalance.

Instructions:


Before Your Tests:

  • Wait more than 4 weeks if you have done a colonoscopy or barium enema.

  • 2 - 4 weeks before your test discontinue any antibiotics, antiparasitics, antifungals, probiotic supplements (acidophilus, etc.).

  • 2 weeks before your test discontinue proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), and bismuth.

  • Do not test if you have active hemorrhoids or is menstruating

  • (if adding on the H. pylori test discontinue aspirin and other NSAIDs (i.e. ibuprofen), rectal suppositories, enemas, activated charcoal, bismuth, betaine HCl, digestive enzymes, antacids, laxatives, mineral oil, castor oil, and/or bentonite clay).



Step 1:

  • Once you receive your lab requisition and GI Effects 3 Day stool kit from your doctor at Meta Health follow instructions to complete GI Effects Comprehensive Profile.


Step 2:

Day 1:

  • Wear gloves and collect stool specimens with an enclosed collection container and record stool consistency (do not contaminate with urine or water).

  • Transfer specimen to Green top tube, mix liquid in tube until it is smooth and that it does not exceed the fill line. Close cap tightly, shake for 30s then place in a biohazard bag and refrigerate it.

  • Dispose remaining specimens and collection container in black disposable bag.


Day 2:

  • Same steps as Day 1 with a second green top tube.

  • Keep specimens refrigerated in a biohazard bag.


Day 3:

  • Same steps as Day 1 with a third green top tube, orange top tube, pink top tube and white top cup (please do not exceed 40ml fill line).

  • Record date of final date of collection on your requisition.

  • Keep specimens refrigerated in a biohazard bag.


Step 3:

  • Ship specimen to the lab (instructions found in your kit box).

  • Do not make any payment or provide insurance information as Meta Health has already pre-paid for the test.


Step 4:

  • Wait for Test Results Notification. 
Lab results will normally become available in 17 to 20 business days. Contact your doctor on the status of your test results.

  • We will contact you to schedule an appointment to review lab findings and treatment plan to support your gut health.
